Roz and Guild Dos.

Now that I have a better understanding of Hamlet, this story makes so much more sense to me.  When i read the first part of this book I had NO CLUE who Roz and Guild were.  I was so so so confused and became even more confused when they started talking about The Players.  The two books fit hand-in-hand so I think it is really good that we are reading them together.  It seems to me that Roz and Guild are dead is a little more light-hearted and not as serious as Hamlet is.  However, the stories are still intertwining and connecting.  I feel like these two characters are put in the play to lighten the mood, and to clearly cheer up Hamlet.  They are always joking and laughing, so I can’t help but laugh at them and think they are kind of like jokes.  Their story is weird too, so it makes me think of them as even bigger jokes.

I think they are so funny, but thats just from the parts that I actually understand. When they talk to each other it seems like they are speaking a different language because its so fast and weird. I know for sure though, that I would cheered up by them if I was Hamlet.

Amen I felt the same way, I understood the first reading as an individuelle work but not in connecting with hamlet, if that makes sense. But in the second reading I better understood why this play was made, I think it is cool because it is like behind the scenes while Hamlet is going on. Or at least that is how I look at it

I laugh out loud all the time especially at these characters. I have always been a fan of post modern reading and as I read ahead have found that you can take almost anything of their main points and connect it to the time period. It is funny because you know that if it were in the Hamlet story it would relate to something in that time period.

I agree!! I was so CONFUSED at the beginning of these readings, but ever since Mrs. Duke’s brother acted it out for us, I can really understand the mood now, and find it funny!
